Ben Hess

Ben Hess is a law enforcement professional with over two decades of experience in public safety, investigations, and critical incident response.

He earned his degree in Criminology from Pennsylvania State University and began his career as a police officer with Pennsylvania State University, serving for five years before joining the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.

Over a 16-year tenure as a deputy sheriff, Ben held a range of leadership roles including SWAT Team Leader, Investigations Lieutenant, Internal Affairs, and Patrol Supervisor, developing a comprehensive understanding of both operational and administrative aspects of law enforcement.

Ben now focuses on critical incident management, bringing a practical, field-tested perspective to complex and evolving threat environments. He specializes in advising and educating law enforcement agencies on emerging risks related to election security. Ben also produces film and video for government agencies, non-profits and corporate clients, having produced much of the content for CSSE.
