Judge James Tatum

Judge James E. Tatum was elected as Bullock County, Alabama Probate Court Judge in 2012 and re-elected in 2018. He served with the Auburn Police Division in Alabama for 25 years and retired with the rank of Captain. He is a strong supporter of the Alabama Special Olympics and a member of the FBI National Academy Associates, International Chiefs of Police Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #73. Additionally, Tatum is a member of the Alabama Probate Judge Association, the National College of Probate Judges, and served as a representative from the State of Alabama for the Election Assistance Commission Local Leadership Council. He has also served as the United States Election Assistance Commission Standards board member from the State of Alabama.

Judge Tatum is a graduate of Bullock County High School in Union Springs, Alabama, the Montgomery, Alabama Police Academy, the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College in Columbus, Georgia, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
