Sheriff Paul Penzone has a combined 30 years of law enforcement and public safety experience. In early 2020, the United States Attorney General appointed Sheriff Penzone to the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice. Previously, Penzone has worked in the Phoenix Police Department for 21 years, with seven years dedicated to the department’s nationally recognized Silent Witness program. Sheriff Penzone is a member of the Arizona Sheriff’s Association, the Major Counties Sheriffs’ Association, IACP, and the Department of Homeland Security Regional Advisory Council. He also serves on the board of the New Life Domestic Violence Center, Childhelp, and Phoenix Symphony. In addition, the Sheriff is a graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute (NEI).
